Kim Penh Xe Lua:
The best Vietnamese food that I’ve had in a long time… especially at 3:30 in the morning. I haven’t had good Pho or really Pho at all since Pho Hung at the corner of Spadina and Nassau in Toronto’s Chinatown.
Similar to the reviews that I have read on www.dinehere.ca, this Pho spot, if you can stand the decor, is consistently good. The decor truly is twisted.
Often after work, driving down Broadway towards our sanctuary at Main St., we’re starving. This isn’t like Toronto with a Pizza Pizza open until 4:00am every night, on every other corner, this is real life in Vancouver – you need to know what the best spots are, and where they are…. or you get stuck with the Wendy’s drive through.
$6 bucks gets you a big pho with beef, rice noodles, spouts, rich broth, etc…
$3 bucks gets you a plate of spring rolls… the good deep fried Vietnamese kind… with that awesome spicy sauce on the side. Complimentary tea – now you’re all set.
Either way, this place is open 24 hours, so need not worry – you’ll be fed well, and well fed.
This is definitely fitting for the “Fast-er Food” movement.
